The main aim of the Language in Education Policy Unit/It-Taqsima tal-Politika Lingwistika fl-Edukazzjoni is to draft and implement a language in education policy. The Language Policy for the Early Years in Malta and Gozo was launched in September 2016 after consulting with educators, parents, and experts in the field including members from the Language Policy Unit of the Council of Europe. The Language Policy for the Junior Years in Malta and Gozo was launched in 2023 and offers guidelines for children, parents, educators and senior leadership teams in the promotion of bilingualism in homes and schools.
