During the summer period (July – September), the National Literacy Agency organises the Aqra fis-Sajf/Summer Reading Campaign to encourage children to continue reading in summer. Reading sessions are delivered in both Maltese and English to all pupils attending Skolasajf across Malta and Gozo. The NLA also offers reading programmes to those students attending the Nwar, Klabb Naħla and Reading Recovery programmes. Apart from these programmes, the NLA organises a number of competitions for students as part of this campaign to promote reading.
