The European Day of Languages/Il-Jum Ewropew tal-Lingwi is organised by the Council of Europe to celebrate linguistic diversity. Throughout Europe, 800 million Europeans are represented in the Council of Europe’s 47 member states and all are encouraged to discover more languages throughout their lives.

Every year, as part of the European Day of Languages activities, the National Literacy Agency encourages children and young people (ages 3 to 16) to showcase their knowledge of foreign languages. The competition usually runs during the summer months.

Entries will be evaluated for use of a foreign language and for creativity.
